Photography was and is never easy. It can be thankless, painstaking and profitless at times. It takes a whole lot of guts and inextinguishable, burning passion to put everything on the line and embark on this unpredictable journey, be it an amateur or a novice. Photography is meaningful not because it’s easy, but because it is not.
Srishti recognises and honours such unwavering dedication. We want photographers to find an ally in us through our constant encouragement and recognition.
In this light, #createwithSrishti, a brainchild of our director, R. Vijayakumar, was born out of a desire to recognise, appreciate and award such visual storytellers, giving them the centre stage that they undeniably deserve.
The #createwithSrishti campaign’s big picture is to promote all-encompassing genres of photography and all of the artists behind the lens, be it amateurs, professionals or hobbyists. Photography knows no limits to age or genres.
The campaign is open to citizens of India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Every week, 5 artists will be handpicked and promoted on our official Instagram handle. The weekly featured photographers are eligible to become the ‘Featured Artist of The Month’. They get a good shot at appearing on our website and winning worthwhile products from Srishti. The monthly featured artists from each country stand a chance to become the Asia Winner, chosen yearly. The grand winner will receive a $2,000 cash prize as a token of our appreciation.
The #createwithSrishti initiative endeavours to take the art of photography to far corners of the world, to inspire people to take up and fall in love with cameras and to find unnoticed beauty and joy that always surrounds us.
